IF... Lisboa: Two margins | Margins of Innovation
The Innovation Festival in Lisbon will take place from November 29 till December 12, 2010. However, the events will already start taking place from May by connecting with other regional activities. The theme ‘Two margins | Margins of Innovation’ will draw direct lines between the municipalities Almada and Lisboa.
Almada is a satellite city of Lisbon and plays a very important role in supporting and complementing Lisbon’s capital status. Everyday, thousands of people circulate between the two cities, constructing important bridges, binding different cultures, ages, activities and interests. IF... Lisboa will explore this relationship and identify each of these cities’ most expressive areas and explore their most relevant strenghts.
The closing event, the IF... Lisboa Conference, will be held December 12th, 2010.
In creating a dynamic and challenging programme, for a wide audience, IF... Lisboa will co-operate with partners and initiatives such as the Design Museum MUDE (www.mude.pt), ModaLisboa (www.modalisboa.pt), the Architecture Triennial (www.trienaldelisboa.com), Chapitô (www.chapito.org), the Institute of Visual Arts and Design IADE (www.iade.pt) and the Portuguese foundation for the physically disabled, Fundação LIGA (www.fundacaoliga.com).
